ChildHope’s work in Bangladesh supporting sexually

exploited and abused children

In Bangladesh, it is estimated that up to 29,000 children are sexually exploited; although reports suggest the true figure is much higher. Poverty, abuse and family breakdown are forcing girls and boys as young as 7 to live and work on the streets of Dhaka and Chittagong. They survive by any means necessary, such as begging, stealing or, falling victim to sexual abuse and exploitation. Very few services are available to them, and they are marginalised, discriminated, abused and exploited by adults. That is why ChildHope is working with Aparajeyo Bangladesh to reduce boys and girls being abused and exploited and support them to access their right to care and protection, such as shelter, health and education.
