Life in Pendekezo Letu
Life in Pendekezo Letu is more better than life on the
Street Of Nairobi.
This is because on the street we are
Beaten by police men and the big boys we sleep
Without food or sometimes eat dirty food?
Lack shelter
And madicino when we fall sick and no body cares
About us at all.
In Pendekezo Letu we eat a lot of food we have
People who care and love us we go to class and we
Are taught different subjects like English Maths Science
Kishwahili and above all we are given clothes and hope
For the future.
In Pendekezu Letu we are involved in many activities
Like cooking sweeping washing clothes and dancing singing
And sports.
We thank
Pendekezo Letu for the support and good
Things it is giving to us and many other street children
We pray that it continues with the good work it is doing
For the needy and desperate children.
Thank you long live
Pendekezo Letu
Just Because I'm a Street Girl
I have something to say,
But I'm a street girl and nobody cares.
I have a point to make,
But nobody listens.
If a child lives with hostility,
She learns to fight.
If a child lives with encouragement,
She learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise and friendship,
She learns to find love in the world.
But I look around and ask myself
"Where is my helper?"
Just because I'm a street girl nobody cares.
I beseech you be merciful to street children
And come to their aid.
They need food, clothing and education,
But most of all they need love.
Children are the pride of Africa.

Jagdish Singh (Age 12 years)
A few years ago I was an aimless child; I have nothing to contribute to my family nor could I give mental satisfaction to my parents. But when I was inducted here, a wide window was opened in front of me. Now I don’t want to waste my time, I utilise it for my study. I want to be a successful doctor in my life and want to share my happiness with my parents.

Children's Rights
by Cleo Vester, London

I strongly believe that children have as many rights as grown ups in nearly all subjects. They have been treated less in so many ways. We must take into account that children are human beings as well and are just like adults.
You may say that children are not highly knowledgable compared to adults. It is true but their imagination is streaming with brilliance and ideas that many grown ups don't have. It is also true that children have less experience but their emotions and feelings are nearly the same and just as strong.
How would you like it if you were unnoticed and ignored in shops when paying for things. Or if there were big changes in your bedroom and you were not consulted about it, as if your opinion doesn't matter in any way about your own personal things.
A good reason to treat children better is they are the adults of the future and if you treat them badly they will treat each other and the world badly. Do you want earth's future to be terrible?
