Overview

We transformed the lives of 14,600 girls and 13,400 boys in 2007.

ChildHope works in partnership with organisations whose values and aims we share. We build the capacity of local organisations in Africa, Asia and South America to:

• Reduce child abuse and exploitation
• Improve child justice and participation
• Promote the rights of children affected by HIV and AIDS

We focus on eleven countries:

Africa: Ethiopia, Kenya, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda

Asia: Bangladesh, India, Thailand

South America: Brazil, Peru

These countries have been selected on the basis of high levels of poverty or inequality. They include both fragile states and those that are faster growing but with huge inequalities.

ChildHope is unlikely to expand into new countries, and plans to withdraw from Thailand at the end of 2007, but may initiate new partnerships in the remaining ten countries. ChildHope stopped working in Central and Eastern Europe in 2003.

We also offer training and have partnerships in the UK that enable better international learning, training and advocacy support.
