We are delighted to announce that ‘My Birth Certificate’ animation produced by the Rainbow Collective for ChildHope and TRAID has been nominated for this year’s Charity Film Award.
“These warm and witty films, written and directly by the children themselves, tell important stories about how having a birth certificate in Bangladesh can be a passport to a better life. TRAID, our staff and our customers are so proud to have been able to provide opportunities for new experiences and creative expression, and it has been an incredibly special part of the wider funding of the day centres providing care, good food and education for children of some of the very poorest garment workers. These workshops have also had a fantastic legacy with the creation of an animation club at the day centres giving all children using the centres the chance to become film makers.”
Leigh McAlea, TRAID – Head of Communications
A unique film written, directed and animated by children of garment and domestic workers in Dhaka day care centre.
‘Through these animations we are able to educate others on what our lives were like and that makes me feel good’
