Thank you to everyone who took part in Live Below the Line 2013. You have raised over £15,000 so far! This is a fantastic amount and is greatly appreciated. It is wonderfully inspiring to have so many people support ChildHope - our team of over 70 Live Below the Liners and all their sponsor too. You have helped to make a change to global poverty and hunger.
Your support will transform children's lives......lives like Shahid's. Shahid was just 10 years old when he was brought to Delhi to find work. At first he worked in factories for very little and was regularly beaten. Then he fell in with a bad crowd and began taking drugs. Earning a living picking rubbish. Luckily one day he met our partner organisation, Butterflies, through their outreach programme. After counselling and a lot of determination Shahid gave up drugs and started attending mobile education classes. At 16 he is now enrolled in the catering course. Members of the ChildHope team visited India and after sampling some of his food they are convinced he has a promising career ahead of him!
The official Live Below The Line challenge took place from 29th April to 3rd May internationally. If you were unable to take part during this time then do not worry. The challenge doesn't officially close until the end of June 2013. If any of your friends, family or colleague feels inspired to take the challenge then let them know they can still sign up.
