ChildHope and Ethiopia Partner, CHADET, have been working with Goldsmiths, Brighton and Addis Ababa Universities, in a research study aiming to give marginalised young people the opportunity to speak out about their lives and their futures. The Youth Uncertainty (YOUR) World Research, funded by ESRC/DFID, has been exploring how young people manage the challenges they face, and the ideas they have to make positive changes in their lives.
Summaries of the research findings can be found below.
For more information about the project, visit the Goldsmiths website https://www.gold.ac.uk/anthropology/research/staff/insecurity-and-uncertainty/
The research has already given the young people the opportunity to talk directly to decision makers and policy makers in Ethiopia about how they can be better supported. ChildHope and CHADET aim to use the findings from the research to influence and strengthen our ongoing work in Ethiopia.
